With the introduction of V20, V18 will be EOL by the end of 2024, with impactful consequences for all organisations involved.

September 1st : V20 update deadline

1 September 2024, marked the deadline for upgrading Hosted by 3CX systems to V20. Support for your Hosted by 3CX instance has already been stopped. This includes your system no longer being monitored, nightly backups will have stopped, and no further security patches will be issued. Any backups restored on these systems will automatically upgrade to V20.

October 1st : 3CX NFR licenses MUST be upgraded

3CX has announced that all 3CX NFR licenses must be upgraded by October 1st, 2024 to avoid them expiring and causing disruption to your 3CX system. Failure to update these licenses will result in losing any existing NFR keys. It is best not to delay any updates and upgrade to V20 as soon as possible.

October 15th : V18 Support Changes

After 15 October 2024, important changes such as 4SC and 8SC subscriptions, technical support will no longer be free. Any support requests for V18 will be charged a fee of 100 USD/GBP/EUR per ticket and Level 3 support will no longer be available for any V18 licenses, regardless of subscription size.

2024 and beyond

By the end of 2024, V18 will be End of Life (EOL). Any instances on V18 should upgrade to V20 before the end of the year. 3CX V20 is more secure and introduces a brand-new feature such as Windows softphone, call transcription with AI, easier user management, call processing scripts and improved API functionality for better call control.

IMPORTANT: Systems on V18 must assign a system owner before upgrading to V20 if without one, as this can cause major issues which require support from 3CX. Support requests will be charged 500 USD/EUR/GBP per license. Avoid the fees – update your system to V20 as soon as possible.
